Guidesnap ("we", "us", "our") operates guidesnap.app. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information. By using the Service, you consent to the practices described here.

2. Information We Collect

Account information: Email address and authentication data.

Usage data: Guides generated, credits used, timestamps, and activity logs. We retain this data for fraud prevention and service improvement.

Uploaded content: Video files uploaded for processing. Stored temporarily and deleted after guide generation.

Payment information: Handled entirely by Paddle. We do not store payment card details.

Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information, and usage patterns for security and analytics purposes.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide, operate, and improve the Service
  • To send transactional emails (authentication, notifications)
  • To maintain account balance and transaction history
  • To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and Terms violations
  • To comply with legal obligations

4. Data Storage and Security

Data is stored using Supabase infrastructure in the EU (Ireland). We implement industry-standard security measures. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure — we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

  • Supabase — database and file storage
  • Paddle — payment processing (Merchant of Record)
  • AI providers — transcript processing (no personal identifiers included)
  • Legal authorities — if required by law or to protect our rights

In the event of a sale, merger, or acquisition of Guidesnap, your data may be transferred to the acquiring entity. You will be notified via email.

6. Data Retention

  • Account data is retained while your account is active
  • Uploaded videos are deleted after guide generation
  • Transaction records are retained for up to 5 years for legal and accounting purposes
  • Upon account deletion, personal data is removed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law

7. Your Rights

You may request:

  • Access to your personal data
  • Correction of inaccurate data
  • Deletion of your account and associated data

Submit requests to: vanmurten.eth@gmail.com. We aim to respond within 30 days. Note: account deletion results in immediate and permanent forfeiture of any remaining credits.

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management only. No advertising or tracking cookies are used.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we become aware of such data, it will be deleted immediately.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy at any time. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance. It is your responsibility to review this policy periodically.
